Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is expected to visit the accident site where, Chennai-bound Coromandel Express (12841) collided with Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express (12864) at Panapana near Bahanaga station in Balasore district of Odisha on Friday.

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR:  Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is expected to visit the accident site where, Chennai-bound Coromandel Express (12841) collided with Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express (12864) at Panapana near Bahanaga station in Balasore district of Odisha on Friday.

At least 40  passengers were feared  killed while over 200 critically injured while death toll may rise as many were badly injured.

‘Rushing to the site in Odisha. My prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured and condolences to the bereaved families.Rescue teams mobilised from Bhubaneswar and Kolkata. NDRF, State govt. teams and Airforce also mobilised. Will take all hands required for the rescue ops,’ Vaishnaw said in a tweet.
