RSS respects SC verdict on Ram Temple, says Mohan Bhagwat

NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Saturday welcomed the Supreme Court verdict on Ram Temple issue. Addressing a jam-packed Press Conference held at Keshabkunja, the Sangha Headquarters’ in New Delhi, Sarasanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat said “We are happy that we got land for Temple but can’t comment on land for mosque,”.

Onus on government to resolve the dispute, said RSS chief. “It’s time to put everything behind us and work together towards building a grand temple,” said Bhagwat.

“We appreciate the efforts of everyone, right from government machinery to the society, in maintaining peace and harmony during the proceedings,” he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the calm and peace maintained by 130 crore Indians in the run-up to today’s verdict manifest India’s inherent commitment to peaceful coexistence. May this very spirit of unity and togetherness power the development trajectory of our nation. May every Indian be empowered?

SC’s Ayodhya judgment is notable due to several reasons – It highlights that any dispute can be amicably solved in the spirit of due process of law. It reaffirms the independence, transparency and farsightedness of our judiciary. It clearly illustrates everybody is equal before the law, the PM said.

Meanwhile, Home minister Amit Shah spoke to chief ministers of all states after the Ayodhya verdict. He enquired about the law and order situation and offered help from the Centre as per the states’ requirement
