SAMBALPUR/ANGUL: The Rehabilitation and Peripheral Development Advisory Committee (RPDAC) for Utkal-C coal block of Jindal Steel & Power has been conducted successfully at Sambalpur under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner of northern division Dr Suresh Chandra Dalai, Angul District Collector Sidharth Shankar Swain, , Sushant Kumar Behera MLA, Agasti Behera Representative of MP Sambalpur, representatives of Project displaced and Project affected families, Civil society members, NGO/SHG representatives and company officials were present in the RPDAC meeting.
The Committee discussed in details about the multiple facets of rehabilitation and resettlement of land losers and project affected people.
After a detailed discussion, the committee accepted the recommendation of the Project Level Rehabilitation & Resettlement Committee (PLRRC) meeting held last week regarding the package for displaced families.
Accordingly , each Displaced Families in Utkal-C Coal Block project will get Rs.35 lakhs for Resettlement and Rehabilitation.
However keeping in view of public sentiments the ex-gratia of Rs. 10 lakhs / acres of land loss has been enhanced upward to Rs. 12 lakhs / acre which will also be paid to the land-losing families.
The members present in the RPDAC meeting expressed satisfaction with the rehabilitation and resettlement packages as well as the ex gratia for land loss , as decided by the RPDAC .
Every body from the Community and the stake holders from the Civil Society thanked the RDC, Collector, Angul and the District administration for creating a win -win situation. As a result, a pro development and positive ambience has been created in the Utkal C Coal Block project area.
