BHUBANESWAR: The court of adhoc additional session judge, Fast Track Special Court(POCSO), Bhubaneswar on Friday while hearing TR Case no-2248 of 2016 bearing NC No TR-122/18 arising out of Balianta PS case no-252 dated 14-08-2016, awarded life imprisonment to a person after convicting him in connection with the rape of a three-year-old girl in Balianta area of Khordha district of Odisha in 2016.
Balianta police had arrested accused 27 year old Lakhana Bindhani alias Ladha, who is son of Rasananda Bindhani , after registering a case in this regard. The victim’s family had lodged a police complaint and sought stringent action against Bindhani.
The fast track court convicted Bindhani on the basis of police investigation and sentenced him to life imprisonment, said Special Public Prosecutor Rajib Sasmal. Sasmal was assisted by Balaram Deo, additional PP.
