PURI/BHUBANESWAR:The Shree Lord Jagannath temple administration has strongly protested against the media reports that the Bhagwan Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra Seva Samiti in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh is celebrating Netrotsav on 13.6.2026 and Rath Yatra on 14.6.2026.

In this context, the Chief Administrator of Sri Jagannath Temple , Puri,  Dr Arbinda Padhee in his letter dated 18.5.2026, has requested the concerned Rath Yatra Seva Samiti to take appropriate measures to refrain from celebrating this festival on other days other than the traditional Tithi.
In his letter, the Chief Administrator Dr Arbinda Padhee drew the attention of the Hapur District Magistrate and said that the steering committee chaired by the Gajapati Maharaj, opposing the Rath Yatra being celebrated on the auspicious day, has taken a resolution that this year, the Netrosab and Rath Yatra of Shri Jagannath Mahaprabhu will be held on 14.7.2026 Rikh and 16.7.2026 Rikh respectively, as per the traditional and scriptural rules.
The Chief Administrator mentioned in his letter that if Netrosab and Rath Yatra are celebrated on any other day other than this day, it will hurt the religious sentiments of countless devotees of the country and abroad.
