BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal was on Friday appointed Prof Sabita Pradhan, Professor of Odia, at West Bengal’s Birbhum based Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan, as first Vice Chancellor of Odia University, Satyabadi.
Prof Pradhan will remain in the post for 2 years with effect from the date she assumes office as such or until futher order, Odisha Raj Bhawan said in a notification.
Born on July 7, 1961, Prof Dr Pradhan has specialisation in linguistics and stylistics modern Odia literature, tribal language, literature and culture and she won several awards including Basant Kumari Devi Lekhika Sammana-2016, Dibyaduta Sammana -2015, Dr Nishami Mishra Prabandha Sammana-2010-11.
Besides, that Dr Pradhan also worked a visiting associate of Indian Institute of Advance Studies for 3 years from 2008.
