Poet Nityananda Nayak receives 41th Sarala Puraskar

BHUBANESWAR: Prestigious ‘Sarala Puraskar’ given every year to best literary creation was presented to poet Nityanda Nayak for the current year. He was honored for his poetry collection ‘Sete Bela Ku Nathibi’, published in 2017 by Friends’ Publishers.

Complying with Corona restrictions, Nayak was presented with Citation, Trophy & Five Lakh cash in a simple and short program.

In this occasion, Ila Panda Chitrakala Samman went to renowned artist Shyamsundar Pattanayak and Ila Panda Sangeet Samman went to renowned musician Ranjeet Kumar Nag along with a Citation and One and a Half Lakh cash awards each.

Present during the event, Trustee  Paramita Panda said that we don’t have a stage or a guest to confer the award. But we don’t feel the absence of any guest as the three great famous talents who are being awarded by us today are our esteemed guests.

The annual Sarala Puraskar instituted by eminent Odia industrialist Late Dr. Bansidhar Panda and Late Ila Panda in the year 1980, has been continuously awarded by

Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT). IMPaCT is the charitable wing of IMFA Ltd., the leading and the only fully integrated producer of ferro alloys in India.

Sarala Puraskar is recognised as the foremost literary award of our State. This award is one of the finest contributions of IMPaCT to glorify Odia literature. The Ekalabya Puraskar also has been instituted by IMPaCT to encourage promising sports talents of Odisha.
