Panic Spreads as Odisha COVID-19 Positive Case reaches at 20

BHUBANESWAR: Panic were late on Friday night spread across eastern Indian State of Odisha, after the State Health and Family Welfare Department officials putting the COVID-19 positive cases at 20, while the State registered highest number of 15 positive cases of COVID-19 in one single day, sources said on late night on Friday.

Department of Health & Family Welfare has reported in its twitter account in which at least 07 cases are related to Surya Nagar in Bhubaneswar case.In Surya Nagar seven cases tested COVID positive and patient’s wife, daughter and tenant have been and four other close contacts are included in the list.

Three positive cases were registered in Bomikhal area and entire area has been sealed.One each case were registered in Puri, Jajpur and two in Bhadrakh.

Looking at the grim scenario, State Government has announced Total Lock Down in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Bhadrakh from 8 PM on 3 March till 8 PM of 5 March.

“ The shutdown will start from 8 PM on Friday and will be in force till 8 PM, Sunday.During the shutdown, all shops including groceries & vegetables will be shut while restricted number of medicine stores will remain open. All lockdown passes have been suspended. #OdishaFightsCorona,” the CMO said.

“Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak and Cuttack, lets show resilience and solidarity during the 48 hour Shutdown. Lets join hands and combat the menace of Corona Virus by staying at home and not venturing out of our houses even for a second #48HourShutdown #OdishaFightsCorona #StayHomeStaySafe,” BJD Rajya Sabha MP Dr Sasmit Patra twitted.
