BHUBANESWAR: Public service, not position, is the main goal of governance; Honorable Prime Minister is leading the country by dedicating himself as ‘Pradhan Sevak’, said Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan. Shri Pradhan said this after participating in various programs under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ in Sambalpur on the occasion of Holy Vishwakarma Puja and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday, 25 years of public service and good governance. He also inaugurated the blood donation camp organized by the Yuva Morcha and thanked the young friends who joined this great effort under the ‘Seva Palkha’. He spent time with the children studying at the Anganwadi center in Remed and distributed nutritious food. There, he visited an exhibition for the ‘Ninth National Nutrition Month’ and interacted with the mothers, sisters, Anganwadi workers, helpers, guardians of the children studying in the Anganwadi center and distributed sarees. He visited the Remed Seva Samaaya Samiti (PACS) of Sambalpur and also interacted with the workers and members of the Samiti to work towards the welfare of the farmers. At Yuyomura, he paid tributes by laying wreaths at the statue of martyr Madhu Gadtia, a close associate of Veer Surendra Sai, freedom fighter and Yuyomura zamindar. In the evening, under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, in Dangapal village of Yuyomura block, the Prime Minister’s birthday was celebrated with the lighting of lamps and small children in the presence of mothers, sisters and villagers of the village.

In the next phase, he joined the ‘Seva Setu’ program and provided government assistance, loans, houses, ration cards and pension to about 1552 beneficiaries under the Nidhi Yojana. Out of which, Shri Pradhan provided land leases to the boarding students through the ‘Vasundhara Yojana’. After completing 18 years, they could build houses on their own land with government assistance and join the mainstream of society. Later, he provided skill certificates and sewing machines to the mothers and sisters trained under the skill development program of MMHSC. It was organized in collaboration with Vikas Foundation, Ormas and Good Deed Foundation.

Joining all these programs, Shri Pradhan said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the world’s most popular public leader. Today is his 76th birthday. The ‘Seva Yatra’ that he started in October 2001 after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat has shown a new vision of development for the entire country today. Completing 25 years of public service and good governance has shown him to be a true public leader. To make this day memorable, our party is organizing a massive program “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan – Nar Seva Hi Narayan Seva” from September 17 to October 17 across the country. Our only goal in the concept of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Mantukham is to serve the people in the last row of the society.

Shri Pradhan further said, we are turning the ‘Poshan Mas’ campaign into a mass movement to provide nutritious food to children. We all should take responsibility to provide nutritious food like fruits, cashew-pistachio, tsisi laddu and millet biscuits to about 75,000 children of the district through Anganwadi. Because today’s healthy and nutritious children will lead a prosperous society and the country in the coming days, he said. Finally, Shri Pradhan appealed to the people to dedicate themselves to serving the nation through cleanliness, nutrition and social service programs in the Seva Sankalp campaign.

On this day, Shri Pradhan visited Sambalpur Junction, Hirakud and Sambalpur City Railway Stations under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’ of the Government of India and inspected the ongoing renovation work. He also inspected various road projects being implemented in Sambalpur on a bike and advised the departmental officers to expedite the project work.
