BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Higher Education and Agriculture Minister Dr Arun Sahoo, one of the trusted Cabinet Colleagues of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, on Friday took on BJP after the Saffron Party leaders shared photos of Nabakalebar and the Thursday visit of Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to Puri to offer prayer to Lord Jagannath in view of the new assignment bagged by them during the last Cabinet reshuffle conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP Leader Lekhashree Samantsinghar has shared photos of Unions Ministers Pradhan and Vaishnaw offering prayers while laying themselves down on Grand Road and another photo of Odisha Minister Dr Sahoo with Daitapati Sevayats during the last Nabakalebar of Lord Jagannath in 2015, which was hit by controversies over selection of Darus. ‘Daru’ is the holy timber used for making idols of the deities at Puri Jagannath Temple, while Brahma parivartan is a ‘secret’ ritual conducted during the Nabakalebar festival when the newly made deities are installed.
