BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK:The state has entered the final phase of paddy harvesting for the current Kharif season 2025-26. According to the latest report received from government sources, till today, about 75,45,381 metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in various mandis in the state, out of which 75,20,212 metric tonnes of paddy has been harvested.

According to official data, a total of 18,11,988 farmers have sold their paddy so far this year. Out of the collected paddy, about 73,46,226 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted by millers from the mandi. The MSP has helped in the paddy procurement process, through which farmers are getting fair price for their crops. A total of Rs 22,337.60 crore has been provided as MSP and input support so far.
Bargarh district is leading in the field of paddy collection, where the maximum 7,77,157 metric tonnes of paddy has been brought to the market and 7,69,838 metric tonnes of paddy has been collected. It is followed by Kalahandi district, where 6,43178 metric tonnes of paddy has been collected. Similarly, Ganjam district has collected 5,58,112 metric tonnes and Subarnapur district has collected 3,79,145 metric tonnes of paddy. According to official information, all the farmers who have sold their paddy are being paid directly into their bank accounts.
According to official data available till March 24, the state’s Kharif paddy harvest was 58,03,664 metric tonnes in 2023-24, while 73,02,782 metric tonnes were harvested in 2024-25. This increased to 74,92,893 metric tonnes in 2025-26. In the last two years, the quantity of paddy harvest has increased by more than 16 lakh metric tonnes. This is a positive sign for the agricultural economy of the state.
