Odisha Government’s Nightmare Goes Up as COVID-19 Positive case reached at 9

BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: With reports of 3 fresh COVID-19 positive cases in Bhubaneswar, the figure in Odisha reached at 9 on Friday putting Naveen Patnaik led BJD Government, which is making all out efforts to contain the outbreak of the dreaded disease, in hurry.

The Patnaik Government, which has been getting praise in both National and Regional media, already announced to complete lockdown of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Bhadrak after reports of 3 and 1 each positive cases respectively, from Friday night.

The Government’s silence on details of the last 4 COVID-19 positive cases including 1 in Cuttack and 3 in Bhubaneswar also have drew huge flake in social media.

In past couple of days, 5 positive cases, including 3 in Bhubaneswar and 1 each in Cuttack and Bhadrak, were reported totalling the figure at 9 with earlier 4 cases.

Earlier in the day, Patnaik Government here had announced complete shut down in Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak and Cuttack for 48 hours to knockdown #COVID19.

“ The shutdown will start from 8 PM on Friday and will be in force till 8 PM, Sunday.During the shutdown, all shops including groceries & vegetables will be shut while restricted number of medicine stores will remain open. All lockdown passes have been suspended. #OdishaFightsCorona,” the CMO said.

“Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak and Cuttack, lets show resilience and solidarity during the 48 hour Shutdown. Lets join hands and combat the menace of Corona Virus by staying at home and not venturing out of our houses even for a second #48HourShutdown #OdishaFightsCorona #StayHomeStaySafe,” BJD Rajya Sabha MP Dr Sasmit Patra twitted.

Within minutes of complete shutdown declared in two cities in Odisha in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, one more person had tested positive in Cuttack for the deadly virus taking total number of confirmed cases to 6 but later in the evening , the figure reached at 9 with reports 3 in Bhubaneswar.

The patient from Cuttack with recent travel history to Delhi has been infected with coronavirus, informed Odisha Health & Family Welfare Department on Friday.6th COVID positive case of the State detected in Cuttack with recent travel history to Delhi while on Friday evening, 3 positive cases were reported.
