BHUBANESWAR:Odia youth Pralay Ranjan Mohapatra, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia, has returned to Odisha. For this, he has thanked the Honorable Minister for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Shriyukt Sampada Chandra Swain. He said that he returned home so quickly only because of the efforts of the Honorable Minister. Pralay and his family members met the Minister Shriyukt Swain at his residence and expressed their gratitude. They also thanked the Ministry of External Affairs of India and the Indian Embassy in Jeddah for their prompt intervention.
Pralay Ranjan Mohapatra of Jagatsinghpur district went to Saudi Arabia on 24.05.2024. There he was working as a wheel loader driver in a company named ‘Majad Al-Harbi’ Co. However, the contract between the said company and Pralay Ranjan expired on 30.04.2026. Even after the work period had expired, the company concerned did not allow Pralay to return to India. Pralay’s mother informed the Hon’ble Minister Shriyukt Swain about the incident and requested him to bring her son back. After this, Hon’ble Minister Shriyukt Swain wrote a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs.
After the Minister wrote the letter, the Indian Embassy in Jeddah held discussions with the concerned employer to provide ‘final exit’ and air tickets to Pralay. Due to the intervention of the embassy, the company granted him ‘final exit’ and provided him with air tickets. Pralay has since returned to Odisha. Pralay’s entire family was in mental distress as his son was stuck in Saudi Arabia. His father Shri Sadhu Charan Sethi was in poor health and his mental distress had increased. However, after Pralay’s return, there has been a wave of happiness in the family. Pralay’s family members said that his son returned for the honorable Minister Shri Swain.
