BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: Odisha Cricket Association President Pankaj Lochan Mohanty and Secretary Sanjay Behera have jointly lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for promoting sports and games in the State.

“A moment of pride for #Odisha and Her Captain Shri Naveen Patnaik Sir. The astounding work done in the area of sports, in an honest attempt to make us the sports capital of the country, doesn’t go unnoticed. Bande Utkala Janani!,” Kendrapara BJD Lok Sabha MP, Anubhav Mohanty said.
“Indeed a proud moment for us in #Odisha to be honoured with decade’s Best State for promotion of sports for the period 2011-2020. I humbly accept this award on behalf of the people of #Odisha & thank the eminent jury headed by #SunilGavaskar for choosing #OdishaBestStateForSports,” Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’who set an impeccable sports infrastructure in his home State said on Sunday.
“I dedicate this award to the thousands of sportspersons from the State who work hard every day to bring glory for the nation & youth of the State. I call upon them to think big and assure that the State Govt will always be there to support them. Sports for youth and youth for future!,” Chief Minister Patnaik said while receiving the Sportstar Aces Award.
Meanwhile, in a moment of pride for the entire State, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik received Sportstar Aces Award on behalf of #Odisha as the decade’s ‘Best State for Promotion of Sports’, from 2011-2020. CM dedicated the award to 4.5 crore Odias, especially the youth. #OdishaBestStateForSports.
Highlighting #Odisha’s initiatives for sports promotion, CM highlighted the State’s recognition for conducting marquee sports events. Odisha is also building largest Hockey stadium in the country in Rourkela & India’s 1st indoor athletic track. #OdishaBestStateForSports.
On the occasion, CM stated that sports has a major role in building a healthy and disciplined society. CM reaffirmed his commitment for creation of the best sporting infrastructure and provide top class coaching for sportspersons. #OdishaBestStateForSports.
