BHUBANESWAR:No amount of investment in mining-based industries in the state can ever solve the unemployment problem. This has been proven in Naveen Patnaik’s 24-year rule. Since 2016, crores of rupees have been spent on the Make in Odisha program, organizing grand events for many foreign companies, and the investment of 10 lakh crore rupees has not been able to create jobs in Odisha.

Now the BJP government is renaming the Make in Odisha program as the Excellence Odisha program and is inviting companies in the same vein and signing MOUs for investments worth lakhs of crores of rupees.
These companies are promising to invest in mining-based industries to exploit the rich mineral resources of Odisha. These investments will never create employment in Odisha. On the contrary, Odisha will become a victim of further plunder.
The BJP and its corporate houses have installed Mohan Majhi as the Chief Minister to loot the mineral resources of Odisha. Mohan Majhi will only give approval to the companies to loot Odisha without asking any questions from the central leadership.
The latest example of this is the agreement signed yesterday by the Chief Minister with Kumar Mangalam Birla to set up an aluminum refinery at Kashipur in Rayagada district.
It is time for the people of Odisha to unite against the great cycle of mineral loot. The BJP party is further accelerating the terrible conspiracy that Naveen and Pandya have not committed to loot Odisha. That is why the BJD is silent on the issue of looting of Siimali and Kutru Mali in Kashipur.
