BHUBANEWAR:Today i.e 05.10.2026, a short while ago, Niranjan Singh Revenue Inspector (RI), Keshari Nagar Circle, Unit-VI, Bhubaneswar has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking a bribe of Rs.5,000/- from an applicant to process and forward the enquiry report for facilitating issuance of legal heir certificate in his favour following his death of mother and younger brother.
The applicant had applied online on 09.09.2026, submitting all necessary documents required for obtaining a legal heir certificate. Following submitting application, the applicant met 3/4 times the RI concerned to forward the enquiry report to the competent authority to get the above certificate. In spite of repeated requests by the applicant, the accused RI Sri Singh was delaying the process for no reason and demanded bribe Rs 5,000/- to forward his application online to the officer concerned. Sri Singh rather insisting on taking bribe from the applicant.
