NEW DELHI:Delhi’s premier performing arts institute Sanskriti Dance and Music Academy hosted 11th Annual Dance Festival entitled “Taal Tarang” with grace and grandeur. The ceremony venue Lajpat Bhawan Auditorium at Lajpat Nagar was aesthetically and elegantly decked up befitting to the grand occasion.

The Colourful cultural extravaganza witnessed amazing performances by around 23 artistes consisting of upcoming to established categories. Sanskriti Dance and Music Academy was established by Guru Srimanta Kumar Mishra in the year 2010. The prime motto of the Academy is to preserve, promote and propagate Odissi Dance through intensive and authentic training. The Academy is being managed currently by the able and active stewardships of its Founder Director Guru Srimanta Kumar Mishra, Managing Trustee and Adviser Madhu Chhanda Tripathy and Joint Secretary Harshita Pallavi Sahu.

An excellent and exceptional exponent of Odissi dance, Guru Srimanta Kumar Mishra has been an artiste having innumerable virtues. At one stretch Guru Shri Mishra is an outstanding teacher, awesome dancer, amazing choreographer and astounding orator. He was initiated into Odissi in 1990 by veteran Guru Madhav Chandra Palai.
Later on Shri Mishra has had the privilege of being trained the finest nuances of Odissi under the tutelage of Guru Late Dr Bidyutlata Chaudhury and Guru Muktilata Pal. A holder of master degree in dance from Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Guruji has the honour of receiving several Awards and recognitions from reputed National and International organisations for his exemplary contributions in popularising Odissi.
The Festival commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the Guests and Hosts of the evening. Addressing the gathering the eminent Guests Senior Journalist and Chairman of World Odisha Society Kishore Dwibedi, Noted Poetess Preetima Khandelwal and ace Administrator Sobhan Kar lauded the efforts of Guru Srimanta Kumar Mishra and Sanskriti Dance and Music Academy in spreading the fragrance of Odisha’s rich art, vibrant heritage and Lord Jagannath’s culture in Nation’s capital.
The series of scintillating presentations include Mangalacharan, Saveri Pallabi, Basant Pallabi, Dasavatar, Shri Ram Chandra Stuti, Bengali folk and popular Sambalpuri dance Rangabati.The highlight of the programme was the Saveri Pallavi, performed as an Odissi duet by Guru Srimanta Kumar Mishra and his daughter and disciple Aadyasha Mishra.
The father and daughter duo enthralled the audiences with their captivating Abhinaya, mesmerising body movements and electrifying footworks. Other noteworthy performers were Supriya  Visiyait, Akanksha Visiyait, Satakshi Tripathy, Samridhi Koul, Rakhi Prakash, Eeti Sahni, Ipshita Khandelwal, Kavya Goyal, Koyesha Pradhan, Aaradhyaa Nayak, Alisha Anjali Sahoo,Tishya Ray, Shraavi Sampriya, Riyansh Kashyap, Suchitra Dash, Laxmi Sahu,
Bani Mohanty, Sujata Panda, Suchitra Rath, Suman Pradhanand Barkha Khandelwal.
The prominent personalities present include Sanjeev Patjoshi, Shishir Dash, Prasanta Sahu, Vimal Panda, Umesh Panda, Divyajyoti Pattanaik, Dhiraj Pradhan, Vinayak Das, Kaveri Behera, Subrat Panda, Guru Sudarshan Sahoo, Guru Santosh Swain and Guru Atashi Mishra.
