BHUBANESWAR: Just before his Nuapada visit, BJD Chief and Ex Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday released a video message informing people about his ensuing visit to campaign for bye election slated for November 11 and counting on November 14.
Naveen Patnaik’s November 3 Nuapada Rally, Will it Impact BJP’s Vote Bank? This a big question now. Political experts’ admitted and said yes to it.
‘Yes, Naveen Patnaik’s rally in Nuapada on November 3 is likely to have a moderate positive impact for BJD and could marginally erode BJP’s vote bank, particularly among women, tribals, and rural voters who still hold nostalgia for his 24-year rule—but it won’t decisively flip the contest,” said a Political expert.
Patnaik’s first major ground campaign post-2024 loss; video message (“Nuapada will win!”) already viral, reviving “Aapana mane khusita?” slogan.
Komna block (tribal-heavy); past BJD rallies drew huge crowds on 19 October nomination rally. Voters who shifted to BJP in 2024 over “change” may return for Patnaik’s personal appeal women schemes like Mission Shakti, tribal welfare.
Based on recent ground reports, opinion polls, and mass defections—potentially marking a big revival for the party in Odisha after its weak 2024 showing (just 14 seats statewide). BJP remains a close second as the incumbent, but BJD is fading fast post-2024 loss. Polling’s on Nov 11, with results ~Nov 14, so this could shift, but momentum favors INC right now.
