BHUBANESWAR: With Odisha Government started execution of mining lease to new lease holders of 24 blocks while near about 9 virgin blocks will go for auction, in a surprise move, the Naveen Patnaik led BJD Government was on Monday shifted 1987 batch IAS officer Raj Kumar Sharma from Steel and Mines Department and posted 1993 Batch IAS Surendra Kumar in his place.
Surendra Kumar, besides Steel and Mines Secretary, will also hold additional charge as Chairman, Cuttack Development Authority (CDA). Raj Kumar Sharma, who served 6 long years since 2014 with State Steel and Mines Department, has been posted as new Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC). It may be noted here that, Odisha Director of Mines, Deepak Mohanty has been given another extension for 8th times since 2012.
As per the notification, Anu Garg as water resources principal secretary and she will continue to hold additional charge of Department of Women and Child Development and Mission Shakti and Satyabrata Sahu has been appointed as the new MS&ME principal secretary with additional charges of Principal Secretary to Govt School & Mass Education Department. 1995 Batch IAS Chithra Arumugam is posted as Principal Secretary Labor and ESI, which was additionally handled by Garg
