NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Jindal Steel and Power Limited Chairman and former 2 times Lok Sabha MP, Naveen Jindal and BJP National VP in Charge of Delhi and Assam, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda on Wednesday deeply condole the death of Congress Stalwart and Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel, who passed away at 71.
“Deeply saddened by the passing away of veteran Congress leader Shri #AhmedPatel Ji. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace,” Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted @Naveen_Odisha.
“Saddened by the untimely demise of veteran Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Shri Ahmed Patel. Gentle and soft-spoken, his public life was dedicated to the service of people. My deepest condolences to his family and supporters in this hour of grief,” Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted @dpradhanbjp.

The veteran politician had been at Medanta Hospital since his health worsened after a Covid infection. In a tweet at around 4 am, his son, Faisal Patel, said that the Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat died at 3.30 am.”With profound grief & sorrow, I regret to announce the sad and untimely demise of my father, Mr. Ahmed Patel at 25/11/2020, 03:30 AM. After testing positive for COVID-19 around a month back, his health worsened further due to multiple organ failures. May Allah grant him Jannatul firdaus, inshallah,” he tweeted, requesting all their well-wishers to adhere to the COVID-19 regulations by avoiding mass gatherings.
