Naveen Deputes 6 Senior IAS Officers to contain COVID-19 onslaught in Temple City

BHUBANESWAR: Temple City of Bhubaneswar now under fire. Out of total 60 positive cases so far, the Capital City alone reported 46 positive cases. With positive cases on rise, the State Government divided Bhubaneswar into three zones and assigned the overall charge of containment and prevention in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation area to six senior officers.

Principal Secretary, Excise Sushil Kumar Lohani and Secretary, Higher Education, Saswat Mishra will look after South East Zone while Principal Secretary, ST,SC Development Ranjan Chopra and Principal Secretary, Energy, Bishnupada Sethi have been assigned  the North Zone,

Principal Secretary, Finance, Ashok K Meena and Secretary, SSEPD, Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma have been assigned the South West Zone.

Sources said out of 5 fresh cases reported on Tueday, Jajpur patient has been admitted to Ashiwini COVID Hospial in Cuttack, four cases from Bhubaneswar were shifted to KIMS Hospital.

The the fresh cases include a 50-year-old-male from jharpada, who is suspected to have come in contact with case number-42 and three persons ( one 51-year-old male, one 75-year-old male and a 51-year-old woman) from Bomikhal area of Bhubaneswar.

Out of 46 positive cases in Bhubaneswar, Bomikhal alone reported 18 cases followed by Surya Nagar-8, Jharpada 6, Satua Nagar-4, Unit-4—3, Unit 5-2 and one each from Gymkhana Palm Height, Kapil Prasad, Badagada Village, BJB Nagar and Saheed Nagar.One patient from West Bengal was also admitted at a hospital in Bhubaneswar.
