BHUBANESWAR:BJD MP Dr. Sasmit Patra writes to Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar urging a transparent and error-free SIR process in Odisha commencing July 2026, citing the approximately 9.8 lakh voters identified for deletion during the Odisha Pre-SIR exercise and his earlier letter and email to the Chief Election Commissioner in this regard.
Referring to Odisha’s inclusion in Phase III of the nationwide SIR exercise covering approximately 3.34 crore electors, Dr. Patra stressed the need for robust safeguards, accurate field verification, transparency, and accessible grievance redressal mechanisms to ensure that no genuine elector is inadvertently excluded from the electoral rolls.
