NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR:We all know how important Kotia is for Odisha and every Odia community. Kotia is the identity of Odisha’s identity, sovereignty and integrity. As Odia, the long-standing border dispute over Kotia is certainly worrying. Regardless of party affiliation, there is a need for everyone to come together and resolve this issue together for the benefit of Odisha, said MP Dharmendra Pradhan.
Shri Pradhan said that he himself visited Kotia village in April 2018, February 2019 and April 2023 and assessed the situation there. He wrote letters to the then Chief Minister of Odisha and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik on November 18, 2020 and October 31, 2022 and to the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Jagan Mohan Reddy on September 22, 2021, requesting them to resolve the problems arising from Andhra Pradesh’s repeated interference in the area and the border dispute.
The responsibility of political figures to resolve the problems of this important border region is very important. It is necessary to create a conducive atmosphere through high-level cordial talks and find a permanent solution. To secure the geographical borders of Odisha, the sacrifices and sacrifices of great personalities like Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das, Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, Vyasa poet Fakirmohan Sahabi, Swabhak poet Gangadhar Meher and Parala Maharaja Krishnachandra Gajapati Narayan Dev will never go in vain. Our continuous fight for Odia independence will continue. It is the collective responsibility of all of us to protect the unity, sovereignty and integrity of Odisha, said Shri Pradhan.
