BHUBANESWAR:  The mortal remains of martyr Debashish Biswal was on Saturday reached his native place at Sakhigopal in Odisha’s Puri district, where he will be cremated with full state honours later in the day.  Biswal was among 5 Indian Army Jawans, who were attacked by Terrorist on  April 20 in Jammu and Kashmir. He is survived by his wife Sushree Sangeeta and seven-month-old daughter.

After the body reached the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal offered floral tribute to Odia Jawan Debashish Biswal.

The martyr’s wife also paid tribute to the mortal remains at the airport. He was given the guard of honour at the airport. BJP State President Manmohan Samal, BJD MLA Anata Narayan Jena and several others paid floral tribute to the martyr.

Debashish among five Indian Army soldiers was killed after the vehicle in which he was travelling caught fire due to suspected terrorist attack in Poonch district on April 20.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had announced an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh for the bereaved family of the martyred Jawan.
