BHUBANESWAR: On Thursday, Manoj Kumar Behera, Revenue Inspector (RI) and Sri Bichitrananda Satpathy, Amin, both of Kandarpur Revenue Circle in the district of Cuttack have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.12,000/- from a Complainant (shop owner) near revenue office, Kandarpur to furnish favorable report in a mutation case for conversion of agricultural land to homestead land and issuance of ROR( Patta) in favour of complaint.
For more than a month, complt had been requesting the duo to furnish the report required for issuance of ROR. But, the duo were demanding bribe Rs 12,000/- to initiate his application and furnish favorable report. Left with no option, complainant reported the matter to Vigilance authorities.
Following this, Vigilance Officers nabbed today the duo Sri Behera, RI and Sri Sat, Amin , while taking demanded bribe Rs.12,000/- from the complt.The entire bribe money of Rs.12,000/- has been recovered and seized from the their possession.
