BHUBANESWAR:The law and order situation in the state is very serious.Senior BJP leader Pratyusha Rajeswari Devi has written to the Chief Minister and Director General of Police demanding the immediate transfer of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jyotiranjan Samantaray, posted in Nayagarh district.

In the letter, she stated that there are allegations that the said officer is harassing innocent people, illegally collecting money and living a luxurious life by acquiring wealth through illegal means. He mentioned that despite such allegations, there is anger among the public as appropriate action has not been taken against him, she mentioned.
Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh, in her letter, has requested the Chief Minister to immediately transfer Jyotiranjan Samantray from Nayagarh district in the interest of public interest and impartial administration. She has also demanded that an honest, efficient and people-friendly police officer be appointed in Nayagarh to restore public trust.
A few days ago, the State Human Rights Commission ordered an investigation against Mr. Jyotiranjana Samantaraya. But the state government has remained silent.
