CUTTACK/KENDRAPARA/BHUBANESWAR: In a new twist to the row, Manjit Das of Cuttack, who is also State Vice-President of BJD’s Students’ Wing, Biju Chhtra Janata Dal has alleged that Party’s sitting Lok Sabha MP from Kendrapara Anubhav Mohanty mentally and physically harassing him. Meanwhile, a video purportedly showing the MP and Das involved in a heated exchange of words has gone viral.

MP Anubhav Mohanty’s PSO filed a written complaint with Purighat Police Station in Cuttack against BCJD State VP Manjit Das. It may mention here, the same Police Station had registered a case against the Actor turned MP basing on an FIR filed a woman Journalist Sasmita Acharya.

In a series of tweets, MP Mohanty had claimed that Manjeet creating ruckus in the locality. After he intervened, the accused hurled abuses at him, the MP had alleged.

“The fact is very clear and laud, Anubhav used to park his Cars at my place but due to some parking problem , I had requested the Lok Sabha MP to relocate his parking , instated he is manufacturing the incident,” Das said. “If the MP takes up the matter , I would like to draw the attention of Party high command,” Das said.

Das said that he was trying to pacify two youths of the area who were fighting over some issue when Mohanty reached the spot and started abusing. “He called me a criminal and anti-social. I want him to prove if I have ever been involved in any anti-social activities,” said Das.

Sources said the house owned by the Kendrapara MP has no boundary but the neighbours like Manjit and others  have allowed him six feet land for road passage. Besides, the Actor turned MP doesn’t have a place to park his vehicle and so, he had been parking it at BCJD State Vice-President’s  place for the last several years. But a few months back, things between Das and Moanty changed, after Das told him not to park his vehicle as his family members were facing problems.

“The way he has written on Twitter about the incident citing me as a criminal is unfortunate. We both represent the same political party. The video that he has shared is an edited one. While I was polite in my words, he was abusive,” alleged Das.

Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh said, “There was an altercation between two people in front of the MP’s residence. The IIC of the concerned police station visited the spot, inquired about the incident and had asked the MP to lodge a formal complaint.”
