Kendrapara Collector Samartha Verma gives details of fresh COVID-19 Case

KENDRAPARA: Kendrapara Collector Samartha Verma was on Monday revealed about the details of the new COVID-19 positive case of the district, which was reported from Rajnagar block.The patient has been shifted to COVID hospital and samples of other inmates of the quarantine centre have been collected, informed Collector Samarth Verma. Odisha reported 391 till Monday afternoon with 14 cases, 12 cases were detected in Ganjam district and one each in Sundergarh and Kendrapara. Kendrapara alone reported 9 cases including 7 active and 2 cured.

The COVID-19 case reported in Kendrapara was kept at a quarantine centre in Rajnagar block. The patient has a travel history to Surat and returned to the state recently.While he was kept at a quarantine centre after returning to the state, he tested positive for the deadly virus last night.

Meanwhile, as many as 1925 outside returnees have been so far housed in different quarantine centers across the Kendrapara district, said sources. Around 12,70,000 Odias work outside the State in different sectors. Similarly, 8,60,000 persons from outside the State work in Odisha.

“1925 people have returned from other states to kendrapara and are staying in panchayat quarantine centres as of now. Only pregnant women, lactating mothers, disabled people, and transgender are allowed home quarantine. Please inform here of anyone apart from the above category who has come recently from other states and is not staying in quarantine centres,” Kendrapara Collector Samartha Verma said.
