Keeping Odisha’s Cultural Heritage Alive: After Lord Jagannath, Naveen Patnaik Focuses now on Lord Lingaraj

    BHUBANESWAR: After bringing historic and unbelievable changes in pilgrimage city of Puri and a giving a new look to the 12th century old Lord Jagannath Temple, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, now kept his focus on Lord Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar.The Chief Minister, who himself an art and culture lover, appealed to the residents of Ekamra Khetra to cooperate with the State Government in this noble efforts.

    “ଏକାମ୍ର ଯୋଜନାରେ ମନ୍ଦିରର ଉନ୍ନତିକରଣ ସହ ପ୍ରଭାବିତ ଉଠାଦୋକାନୀ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ବ୍ୟବସାୟୀମାନଙ୍କ ଥାଇଥାନର ସୁବନ୍ଦୋବସ୍ତ କରାଯାଇଛି। ମହାପ୍ରଭୁ ଲିଙ୍ଗରାଜଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ତ୍ୟାଗକୁ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଜାତି ସବୁବେଳେ ମନେରଖିବ। ପ୍ରଭୁ ଲିଙ୍ଗରାଜଙ୍କ ସେବା ପାଇଁ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ବିକାଶ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟରେ ସହଯୋଗ କରିବାକୁ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ମୁଁ ବିନମ୍ର ଅନୁରୋଧ କରୁଛି।,” tweeted Naveen Patnaik@Naveen_Odisha.

    “ଆମର ଏହି ପଦକ୍ଷେପ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଐତିହ୍ୟ ନଗରୀ ଭୁବନେଶ୍ବରକୁ ୟୁନେସ୍କୋର ବିଶ୍ବ ଐତିହ୍ୟସ୍ଥଳ ତାଲିକାରେ ସ୍ଥାନିତ କରିବା ମାର୍ଗ ଆହୁରି ପ୍ରଶସ୍ତ ହେବ। ଆମ ଉତ୍କଳୀୟ ଐତିହ୍ୟର ଗରିମା ବୃଦ୍ଧି ସହ ବିଶ୍ୱ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟଟକଙ୍କୁ ଆକୃଷ୍ଟ ଦିଗରେ ଏହା ବିଶେଷ ସହାୟକ ହେବ।,” CM Patnaik tweeted.

    CM Patnaik on Monday directed the officials concerned to finish the Ekamra Khestra Yojana expeditiously.This programme is part of the 5T initiative for the beautification of Lingaraj Temple and its periphery. Under the programme, the 66-acre land surrounding Lingaraj Temple will be developed to accommodate over two lakh devotees who can witness Mahadipa darshan on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, Ashokastami and other religious activities.

    This drive also helps lakhs of Kawaris to pay their obeisance to Lord Shiva in the month of Sravana.The high-level meeting was chaired by Chief Minister and attended by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and 5T Secretary V K Pandian. The Ekamra Khestra Yojana will offer  Orientation Centre, Food Plaza, Bhajan Mandapa and Kedargouri renovated pond to the devotees.

    Under #EkamrakshetraYojana, a massive development project will be executed at Lingaraj Temple to offer a divine experience to devotees. It will be implemented on 66 acres of land which can accommodate more than 2 lakh devotees during special occasions like Maha Shivratri. #5T.

    The ambitious plan will include road widening & lightning work around the Temple which will facilitate crowd management in special occasions. Bindu Sagar and other historic ponds will be rejuvenated and special emphasis will be given on waste transportation and drainage system, the CMO said.
