Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court on Wednesday, with Odisha Governor Raghubar Das administering the oath at a special ceremony. Justice Singh’s tenure will conclude in January 2025.

CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR:  Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court on Wednesday, with Odisha Governor Raghubar Das administering the oath at a special ceremony. Justice Singh’s tenure will conclude in January 2025.

‘आज भुवनेश्वर में उड़िशा उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीश के तौर पर नवनियुक्त न्यायमूर्ति श्री चक्रधारी शरण सिंह जी को पद की शपथ दिलाई। उनके सफल कार्यकाल के लिए हार्दिक बधाई एवं शुभकामनाएं दीं।, Governor Raghubar Das said in an X post.

Justice Singh’s name was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium to the Central Government for appointment as the next Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court following the retirement of Chief Justice Subhasis Talapatra on October 3, 2023.

Born on January 20, 1963, Justice Singh earned his LLB degree from Delhi University and began practicing at the High Court of Judicature at Patna in 1990, specializing in constitutional, service, criminal, and arbitration matters.

He was appointed as a judge of the High Court of Judicature at Patna on April 5, 2012, and has also served as the Additional Advocate General for Bihar for 22 years.
