JSPL Observes Chairman Naveen Jindal’s 51st Birth Day in Odisha

ANGUL/BARBIL/BHUBANESWAR: Employees of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) observed fitness day today (on 9th March, 2021) to mark birthday of JSPL’s Chairman  Naveen Jindal, who is known for his fitness and patriotism, besides being an industrialist.  On the occasion, JSPL and its social arm JSPL Foundation conducted various programmes to promote fitness among employees and local community as well as distributed O.P. Jindal   Scholarships among thr eligible students in Angul.

On the occasion, JSPL Foundation distributed O.P. Jindal Star and O.P. Jindal Jewel Scholarship to support local meritorious students from financially weaker section of the society to continue their higher education.  Angul Collector and District Magistrate Mr. Siddharth Shankar Swain and Executive Director of JSPL  Hrideshwar Jha presented the scholarship amount and certificate to eligible students from Chhendipada and Banarpal blocks. District Education Officer Kalpana Behera, HR & ES Head of JSPL Angul  Ravi Shankar and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

As a part of its Fitness Day celebration, JSPL Foundation opened an Open Gym at Jarasingha Village for health and wellbeing of local community. The Open Gym was inaugurated by  Tapan Kumar Satapathy, ADM-Angul, in presence of Jarasingha village Sarpanch  Milap Pradhan, GM-CSR of JSPL  Puspalata Satapathy and other respectable persons like Village President Sanjeev Swain, Village Secretary. Bapi Swain and others.

A Yoga camp was also conducted in Jarasingha under the guidance of Yoga Guru Swami Satyabindu Saraswati ji. Local villagers and youths in large nos. attended the yoga camp as well as the open gym inauguration programme.  Hrideshwar Jha also attended the cake-cutting ceremony held at the office premises with participation of senior officers including Mr. Damodar Mittal, President,Mr. Atul Dubey, EVP, Mr. Ashish Pandey, AVP and others.  A special puja also conducted in the temple praying for   good health and prosperity of Shri Jindal.

Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL) and its social arm JSPL Foundation celebrated the birthday of JSPL’s Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal as ‘Fitness Day’ at Barbil in Keonjhar. To raise awareness about physical wellbeing and good health of employees and workers, a walkathon was organised in the residential area of the pellet plant in which all the employees and their family members participated in large numbers.

The day started with the flagging-off of a walkathon within the ambit of Covid protocol by the Unit Head  Brij Badhadra. The event witnessed a footfall of hundreds of participants maintaining physical distance and the enthusiasm was clearly visible among children who gave slogans on physical fitness.

In his address Badhadra said, “To remain physically fit, if we practise yoga it has two benefits; it will lessen our mental stress and we will be more productive. We must learn this from our  Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal ji who is a role model for the Gen Next for his fitness and tenacity. By being more productive, we will be able to contribute for an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.”

On the occasion everyone took the pledge to follow the Fitness Mantra of iconic Chairman Sri Naveen Jindal ji. Later in the day, a cake cutting ceremony was organised in the pellet plant premises maintaining Covid protocol in which all the employees and workers joined. Among others Commercial Head  SK Agrawal; Operation Head MD Purushottam; Head (HR &ES)  Sarat Kishore Panda, Electrical Head Sunil Pattnayak; Mechanical & Maintenance Head  Deepak Dash, and CSR Head  Vargil Lakra were present on the occasion.
