Joint mock drill by NDRF and CISF held at NTPC Talcher-Kaniha

TALCHER-Kaniha:A joint mock drill by National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) and CISF personnel was conducted at NTPC Talcher Kaniha on 25.02.2017.The mock drill was conducted at Chlorine plant of the power station. The exercise was done to create awareness among the employees to counter with emergency situations and crisis during day to day operation of the power station.

During the mock drill, the joint team comprising NDRF and CISF demonstrated rescue operation skills and elaborated the ways to minimise the damage created during an occurrence of industrial accidents. The mock drill was organised in presence of Shri Debasis Sarkar, Group General Manager, senior officials of the power station and employees including safety department officials.

After successful completion of the drill, Group General Manager,  Sarkar addressed the gathering. While addressing the officials, NDRF and CISF team, he said “drill should be a considered as a learning exercise for employees. Safety of the employees and labourers working in the power station is a top priority along with generating power”. He appreciated the joint drill force to make aware of the safety techniques and made us think again on the readiness of the power station to counter the crisis.

Later senior officials visited the drill site and enquired with the NDRF officials to strengthen safety measures with their feedback on the mock drill.Deepak Kumar, Deputy Commandant (CISF), NTPC Kaniha too spoke on the mock drill and thanked the NDRF and CISF personnel for the effective demonstration. He conveyed his regards to NTPC Talcher Kaniha management support for the success of the drill programme, informed Deputy Manager (PR) Amit Kumar Behera.
