Joined Service in 2009 at Rs 15,000 Per Month: 4 Multi-Storeyed Buildings including 2 in Bhubaneswar, 1 in Puri, 1 3BHK Flat , 24 High Value Plots unearthed during Vigilance raids on Umakant Samantaray, Assistant Director of Factories and Boilers in Sambalpur

BHUBANESWAR: 4 Multi-Storeyed Buildings including 2 in Bhubaneswar, 1 in Puri, 1 3BHK Flat , 24 High Value Plots unearthed during Vigilance raids on Umakant Samantaray, Assistant Director of Factories and Boilers in Sambalpur.

During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Sri Samantaray and his family members;

1. *One duplex with area approx 2900 Sqft*. located at Nandan Vihar, Nandankanan Road, Bhubaneswar.
2. *One building with area approx 2460 Sqft*. near Indus College of Engineering located at Barakuda (nearJatani), Bhubaneswar.
3. *One triple storyed building with area approx 4000 Sqft*. located at Tota Behera Sahi, Baliguali, Puri.
4. *One double storyed building with area approx 4000 Sqft*. located at Subash Marg, Balugaon, Khordha.
5. *One residential 3-BHK Flat with area approx 2000 Sqft*. in Sun City Apartment, Dhankauda, Sambalpur.
6. *24 high value plots including 8 plots at prime locations of Bhubaneswar & Jatani, 3 plots on the outskirts of Khordha, 8 plots in and around Sambalpur town, 3 plots at Burla and 2 plots at Rengali*.

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/flat/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

7. Deposits and other investments in financial instruments are being ascertained.

Earlier on Tuesday, on the allegation of possession of  disproportionate assets( DA) by Umakant Samantaray, Asst. Director of Factories and Boilers, Sambalpur, beyond his known sources of income, simultaneous searches are being  conducted by Odisha Vigilance led by 8 DSPs, 11 Inspectors, 11 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur at his following 7 places in Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Khordha.

1.Residential 3BHK Flat in Sun City Apartment, Dhankauda, Sambalpur of Sri Samantaray.

2. One Duplex of Sri Samantaray at Nandan Vihar, Nandankanan Road, Bhubaneswar.
3. His building of near Indus College of Engineering at Barakuda,(nearJatani), Bhubaneswar.
4. His triple storyed building at Tota Behera Sahi, Baliguali, Puri.
5. His double storyed building  at Subash Marg, Balugaon, Khordha.
6. His double storeyed building at his native place at Ashok Nagar, Balugaon, Khordha.
7. His office chamber in the office of Deputy Director, Factories and Boilers, Sambalpur.

Umakant Samantaray (DOB:-07.03.1982) entered into Govt. service on 06.02.2009 as Asst. Director of Factories & Boilers, Rourkela with initial salary of Rs.15,000/- per month.

He continued there till 05.08.2013. Then, he was transferred and posted as Asst. Director of Factories & Boilers, Anugola. Again, on 01.12.2020, he was transferred and posted as Asst. Director of Factories & Boilers, Sambalpur. Since then, he has been continuing as such to date.
