Jagatpur PS Case No-190, accused invloved in chain snatching , arrested , know details

CUTTACK:Ref: Jagatpur PS Case No-190, dt.18.3.2026, U/s-304(2)/3(5) BNSName of IO: – ASI Tapan Kumar Swain of Jagatpur PS, Cuttack UPD.

Brief fact of the case:- On 18.3.2026 at 06.30 PM the Complainant Smt. Leenarani Behera W/o Arun Kumar Behera of Majhisahi, PS. Mangalabag, Dist. Cuttack reported in writing in Jagatpur PS alleging that on the same day at about 4.42 PM while she was travelling from his residence to her maternal house at Jagatpur Delta Colony, along with her brother in law, two unknown miscreants coming on a Yamaha R-15 motor cycle, snatched away her gold chain weighing of about 15 grams from her neck near Krushna Gopal Sweets, Jagatpur I.B,. Road. Basing on her complaint, the above noted case was registered and investigated.

Taking into the magnitude of the offence, a sustained and continuous CCTV verification, analysis of the movement of the miscreants and credible inputs from various sources and the information of the involved Yamaha R-15 motor cycle were gather which led the investigating team to get clue in this case. By such sustained efforts under the guidance of IIC, Jagatpur and ACP, Zone-I, Cuttack, the IO of the case ASI. Tapan Kumar Swain with the able assistance of raiding teams of Jagatpur PS managed to apprehend both the miscreants and recovered four number of gold chains weighing about 31.360 grams and the involved vehicle. Both the accused persons have been arrested on it was established that

1-Sk. Wasif @ Talib (28), S/o- Sk. Ashik of Kesharpur, near Chhoti Masjid, PS. Purighat, Dist-Cuttack,

2. Ali Khan 21 years S/o Lala Khan of Kesharpur, PS. Managlabag, Dist. Cuttack.

3- Sk. Baba Abas Alli 24 years S/o Late Sk. Yusuf of Gamadia, PS. Managalabag, Dist. Cuttack.

Article seized:-

1. One Blue-Black Colour Yamaha R-15 motor cycle motor cycle bearing Regd. No-OD-02-BA-9722.
2. One gold chain, weighing about 6 grams.
3. One gold chain, weighing of about 12.200 grams
4. One gold chain, weighing of about 7 Grams
5. One gold chain, weighing of about 6.160 grams
