BHUBANESWAR:  While addressing the business leaders and investors at the second day of the Make in Odisha conclave here at Janata Maidan on Thursday, Odisha Industry-Energy-MSME Minister Pratap Deb appealed Industry Captains to take advantage of facilities available in Odisha.

Minister Deb said, “It is now time to make Odisha a manufacturing hub, especially for the rising EV sector,’. “We have a rich cultural and economic history and we are now working for the youth, who will take the state forward. It is now time to make Odisha a manufacturing hub, especially for the rising EV sector,’ Deb said.

Making the announcement in his key note address at a business leadership talk themed “Towards Greener Energy” organised by the Energy Department, Minister of Energy, Industries and MSME Deb said the OREP-2022 will also provide multiple incentives for development of renewable energy projects in the State. The Department has also executed three Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading CPSUs for an investment worth Rs 51,000 crore. The first was executed between GRIDCO and NTPC Green Energy for development of large-scale on-ground solar, floating solar  and pumped solar projects in the State. The second was executed between GRIDCO and SJVN Ltd for development of 2000 MW pumped storage hydro project and 2000 MW ground based  and floating solar projects with cumulative investment of Rs 30,000 croreThe third was executed with NLC for development of large scale on-ground solar, floating solar, pumped storage hydro and green hydrogen projects in the State.

During the conclave Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also took this opportunity to launch the Industrial Policy Resolution with CXOs and Industry leaders.

Chief Minister Patnaik also held meetings with Ambassador of Japan Hirosi Suzuki, Norwegian Ambassador, German Consul General Manfred Auster & Ambassador of Nepal Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma. CM Patnaik highlighted Make In Odisha opportunities and invited them to join in Odisha’s transformative journey. During the Plenary session this morning, some of the country’s most prolific business leaders shareed why Odisha is one the best Indian states for business.

JSW Chairman Sajjan Jindal, AMNS’s Laxmi Mittal, Tata Group’s TV Narendra , NALCO CMD, Sridhar Patra, L N Mittal, Executive Chairman, Arcelor Mittal, Anil Agarwal, Chairman, Vedanta Resources Limited, and few others addressed at the Conclave. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik  also talked to Industry captains along with Industry , MSME and Energy Minister Pratap Deb. Chief Secretary SC Mohapatra and Principal Secretary Industries Hemant Sharma, 5T Secretary VK Pandian were among those present on this occasion. The State Government expecting to receive intents worth more than Rs 6 lakh Crore during the meet.
