International Yoga Day celebrated at Lok Bhavan-Governor and first lady of the state practiced yoga

International Yoga Day was celebrated at Lok Bhawan on Sunday. On this occasion, the Honorable Governor of Odisha Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati and the Honorable First Lady of the state Dr. Jayashree Kambhampati joined in a special program organized at New Abhishek Hall and practiced yoga. This year, the theme of Yoga Day was “Yoga for Healthy Aging”.

BHUBANESWAR: International Yoga Day was celebrated at Lok Bhawan on Sunday. On this occasion, the  Governor of Odisha Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati and the Honorable First Lady of the state Dr. Jayashree Kambhampati joined in a special program organized at New Abhishek Hall and practiced yoga. This year, the theme of Yoga Day was “Yoga for Healthy Aging”.

Governor’s Commissioner and Secretary to the Government Dr. Rupa Roshan Sahu, along with Lok Bhavan officers and employees actively participated in the program.
Participants performed various yoga asanas and pranayama in a serene environment. The event emphasized the importance of yoga and encouraged people to practice yoga regularly to lead a healthy and balanced life.
The Governor called yoga an integrated discipline that brings harmony between body, mind and spirit. The Governor urged the citizens to make yoga a part of their daily lives and embrace its positive impact on well-being and peace of mind.
Students from Asian Institute of Public Health (AIPH) University and Abhinav Bindra Sports Medicine and Research Institute (ABSMARI) also participated in the event. Yoga instructors Sushil Patnaik, Nilima Pal and Jyothi Samal conducted the yoga practice program.
