BHUBANESWAR:High-level review on heavy rain and flood damage assessment. Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari reviewed the flood damage assessment, compensation and post flood rehabilitation work with the District Collectors. Hon’ble Minister directed the District Administration to submit the final damage assessment report at the earliest and to release the compensation to the bank accounts of the affected people through DBT at the earliest.
As per the reports received so far, 23 districts have been affected, 3,567 houses and 37,297 hectares of agricultural land have been damaged. The state government has already provided an assistance of ₹110 crore and additional funds will be provided if required. The Hon’ble Minister has directed all the district administrations to expedite the submission of the final damage assessment report and payment of compensation.
The meeting also discussed in detail the improvement of drainage systems, permanent solutions to flood-prone roads, development of disaster-resilient infrastructure, and long-term solutions to urban waterlogging problems.
