CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR:The High Court has given a setback to the superintendent of Chaudwar Circle Jail. It was clearly stated on the 4th that if he does not cooperate and provide the necessary documents to the police, the internal security granted to him on March 23 will be withdrawn.
The High Court had directed the State to file the case diary as per its order dated 30th March and the same was accepted in the last hearing. During the hearing, Dr. Vinod Kumar Mishra along with his associates appeared for the informant and filed affidavits which were accepted by the court. Dr. Mishra submitted an investigation report of the DIAG, Chaudwar Jail. The DIAG has revealed in his report that the in-out register maintained by the Circle Jail was tampered with. It is alleged that such tampering was done on the instructions of the petitioner. As a result of which the informant was falsely imprisoned in the former jail and is now facing departmental action.
It is also brought to the notice of the court that the petitioner is not cooperating during the investigation and has not provided relevant documents to the IO. In view of the above, the court directs that the petitioner shall submit all relevant documents without any error for the investigation demanded by the IO.
Pending the reply of the State and in view of the above order, the hearing has been fixed for the next 21st. The High Court has made it clear that if no cooperation is received from the petitioner (Superintendent) as per the allegations made now, then the interim order of March 23 will stand vacated. Hon’ble Judge Justice R.K. Patnaik is hearing the matter.
