PURI:While an organization from Hapur was planning to organize the Rath Yatra on June 16, this holy festival is scheduled to be celebrated on July 16 this year as per the fixed date of the main shrine, Shri Jagannath Temple, Puri. Regarding this deviation, SJTA Chief Administrator Dr Arbinda Padhee had wrote a letter to the Hapur District Magistrate, requesting him to take necessary steps to ensure that the festival is celebrated as per tradition and scriptural norms.
Today, the District Collector has informed in writing that the festival will not be held in June and the organizers have been advised to celebrate it in July as per the actual date.
‘We express our heartfelt gratitude to Hapur District Magistrate Mrs. Kavita Meena and the entire Hapur District Administration for their timely intervention to protect the dignity of this sacred tradition,” Dr Padhee said.
