PURI:Folk Art Day to be celebrated in Pipili on 10th. In celebration of Odia, the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department has organized Folk Art Day. It will be held on the afternoon of 10th of this month at Pipili Pada Pradiya. A preparatory meeting for the smooth and orderly conduct of this program was held at Pipili Block Conference Hall this morning under the chairmanship of Additional District Collector Protocol Nilamadhav Bhoi. Participating in this, Pipili MLA Ashrit Patnaik expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the state government for deciding to hold a state-level festival in Pipili with the aim of encouraging folk art artists.
He advised everyone to do it beautifully and visited the field and gave various suggestions. Additional District Collector Shri Bhoi directed the department to complete the responsibility given to it on priority and with sincerity. Road and ghat repair, law and order Discussions were held on safety, traffic control, parking lot arrangements, drinking water supply, temporary toilet arrangements, sanitation arrangements, fire department fire extinguishing arrangements and lighting, uninterrupted power supply and removal of hanging electric wires, cable wires or keeping them high, ambulance arrangements and health care arrangements, lighting arrangements in the city and all places, and wide publicity of the program.
At the beginning, Additional Secretary of the Culture Department Smita Mohanty welcomed everyone and discussed the work schedule of the Day for Folk Art and finally expressed her vote of thanks. Deputy Director of the Department, Madhushan Smita Manish, gave detailed information about the program and informed that a huge cultural procession has been organized from Pipili Jawahar Vidyapeeth to Pada Padiya on April 10. About 800 artists from different districts of the state participated in this procession in traditional costumes and performed cultural programs.
The schedule of activities to be performed is as follows. On the occasion of celebrating this day, a grand cultural walk will be organized by bringing together every folk art form of all the districts of Odisha, starting from Jawahar Vidyalaya Sports Ground at 4 pm and ending at the open field, and the program will be held at the open field at 6.30 pm, informed the Minister. Among others, Pipili Video Saroj Kumar Raut, District Cultural Officer Hemant Behera, Public Relations Deputy Director Santosh Kumar Sethi and other officials attended the meeting and took part in the discussion. Later, all the officials visited the area along with MLA Shri Patnaik.
