Fighting COVID-19: Naveen-Shallu brings Smile among Anganwadi Workers-Helpers in Odisha’s Angul

ANGUL/BHUBANESWAR:  The Naveen Jindal owned Jindal Steel and Power Limited, the CSR arm of JSPL Foundation, which is known for its philanthropic work, has stepped up its service work in State’s coal bearing Angul district, where the company runs an Integrated Steel Plant in view of the alarming rise of COVID-19 positive cases in the State.

JSPL and JSPL Foundation, which have been missing no stone unturned to help out people of Odisha during COVID-19 crisis, further extended help of hand. JSPL Foundation, distributed facemasks and sanitizers among Anganwadi Workers and Helpers in  Angul district.

JSPL Foundation officials said they have distributed a total of 3,276 masks and sanitary kits in 1,654 Anganwadi Centres in the district. These masks were stitched by the trained women of SHGs promoted by the foundation. The SHG members are able to earn a fair amount everyday by stitching masks. .

The foundation has provided 1.30 lakh masks to the community members, workforce and Covid warriors of Angul, Barbil and Bhubaneswar. It has given 1,700 masks to the security and maintenance staff of the Bhubaneswar airport.

Besides that,  under its  Mission Zero Hunger launched by JSPL Chairman Naveen Jindal, the foundation led by Shallu Jindal has also provided cooked food and dry rations to more than 1 lakh migrant labourers and socially vulnerable, including 50,000 meals in Angul.
