BHUBANESWAR:Dr. Lagnajit Dash, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, faculty of medicine of SOA Deemed to be University here, has been admitted as a mental health expert by the International Olympic Committee, Lausanne, to help elite athletes.
Dr. Dash, who underwent the course with IOC, recently qualified as a mental health expert for athletes and received a certificate signed by Mr. Kirsty Coventry, IOC President, and Dr. Robin E. Mitchell, IOC Health, Medicine and Science Commission Chair.
Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak, Founder President of SOA, congratulated Dr. Dash on becoming the first mental health expert from Odisha to be recognized by the IOC. He wished him greater successes in the future. Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Lenka, Medical Superintendent of the IMS and SUM Hospital-2 at Phulnakhara, was present on the occasion.
“My goal will be to help athletes in Odisha to improve their performance and shine on the global stage,” Dr. Dash said.
