SAMBALPUR/BHUBANESWAR:Sambalpur MP and former Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan has participated in the ‘Tricolor Padayatra’ organized from Reserve Police Station to Jail Chack in Sambalpur.
The Odisha Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Shri Ravi Narayan Naik, along with many public representatives, intellectuals, activists, youth and a large number of students of the region enthusiastically participated in this Padyatra. The passion, enthusiasm of patriotism and slogans of patriotism of the youth in the Padyatra made Sambalpur proud and created an indescribable atmosphere. On this occasion, Shri Pradhan said that the ‘Tricolor’ is a symbol of our national pride, self-respect and unity. Our national flag is a symbol of the hopes, aspirations and progress of crores of citizens of the country. This ‘Tricolor Padyatra’ in Sambalpur has given us a sacred opportunity to remember and pay tribute to the great fighters of India who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom.
Shri Pradhan appealed to the citizens that on the call of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have to turn the ‘Har Ghar Triranga’ campaign into a mass movement. Every citizen must fulfill his responsibility to serve the motherland and further strengthen the resolve of building a ‘Developed Odisha’ and ‘Developed India’.
On the occasion of the Padayatra, he paid tribute to the statue of the great freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai along with the Shri Pradhan Shaheed Pillar. Similarly, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of ‘Subhav Kavi’ Gangadhar Meher, one of the cornerstones of the formation of a special Utkal Pradesh, he garlanded the statue of Gangadhar Meher and expressed that his contribution to Odia literature and taking forward Odia nationalism will be remembered forever. Apart from this, he highly appreciated the art and creativity of the enthusiastic youth who painted patriotic pictures on this occasion.
