ANGUL:Former Union Minister and Sambalpur MP Shri Dharmendra Pradhan today laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several projects for the spiritual , communication and infrastructure development of the region during his visit to Angul Athmallik.
Shri Pradhan laid the foundation stone for the construction of paved roads from Bartikira to Tangianisha and from Chhatiya Sahi to Padmapokhari, while he inaugurated the restoration and beautification work of the Aradhya Devi Maa Durga Temple located in Athamallik Durga Bazaar . Shri Pradhan performed the ceremony for the installation of new high mast lights at Madhapur Bus Stand. He also inaugurated the new lighting project from Pashu Toshakhana Chack to Mahanadi Setu . On this occasion , Shri Pradhan said that these steps will make the transportation of the local people easy and safe in the coming days and will further accelerate the economic and social progress of the entire region.
During his visit, the MP was accorded a warm welcome by local leaders , activists and the general public at various places including Angul and Athamallik . Shri Pradhan also visited the Durga Temple at Athamallik and prayed to the Goddess for the welfare of the world .
