NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday chaired a meeting of the National Biofuel Coordination Committee to discuss further expansion of scope of feedstock for ethanol production. Today in principle approval was given to allow conversion of maize into ethanol for EBP program.
Approval for conversion of surplus rice into ethanol was already given in April this year to strengthen the green economy and further promote and adopt biofuels.
Emphasis was also laid upon capacity building and infrastructure enhancements to boost production of ethanol from grains in order to boost availability of Ethanol to achieve objectives under National Biofuel Policy.
