TALCHER/BHUBANESWAR:The district administration should come up with a comprehensive plan for the overall development of Talcher city and the economic upliftment of the local people. Efforts should be made to change the city’s image and give maximum priority to employment and livelihood, said Sambalpur MP and former Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan while participating in the dedication and foundation stone laying program of several development projects at the Talcher Municipal Council on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Pradhan said that Talcher, the land of black diamonds, is the center of energy and power of India. The birthplace of the revolutionary late Purvath Mohan Pradhan and the historical glory of the Prajamandal movement inspire us to continuously serve the country. Today, several projects worth more than Rs. 62 crore have been dedicated and laid under the District Mineral Fund (DMF), Chief Minister’s Urban Development Scheme and other programs. The initiative started for the development of roads, education, health, agriculture and allied infrastructure will make Talcher a developed region. If the communication system is smooth, the livelihood of the local people will be strengthened. The successful implementation of the plan is necessary so that the industries and crafts here benefit the people and create massive employment. If Talcher develops, the entire Odisha and the country will develop.
Discussing the city’s environment and pollution, he said that ash pollution is increasing in many places, which the local administration should take steps to prevent. We all have a civic responsibility to make the city clean and beautiful, for which everyone should plant a lot of trees. In addition, collective efforts will be made to establish an art college and a zoo here to give a new identity to Talcher. He strongly expressed that this all-round development of Talcher under the leadership of the country’s famous Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will pave the way for the creation of ‘Developed Odisha’ and ‘Developed India’.
Dhenkanal MP Rudranarayan Pani, Talcher MLA Brajkishore Pradhan, Angul MLA Pratap Chandra Pradhan, Pallahara MLA Ashok Mohanty, Parajang MLA Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan, Chendipada MLA Agasti Behera, along with many dignitaries, local public representatives and the general public were present at the ceremony.
