DGP Reviews Law and Order Situation for Pipili Bye Polls

CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: DGP, Abhay, on Wednesday reviewed the poll preparedness with DIG of Police, Central Range JN Pankaj, Cuttack and SP, Puri district, K Vishal Singh through Video Conference. DGP emphasized on the free, fair transparent, impartial and incident free bye-election for Pipili in Puri.

He stressed on strict enforcement of model code of conduct and adherence to the ECI guidelines and COVID Protocols for Police arrangements and security arrangements, including visits of VIPs and VVIPs. He further emphasized on intensifying prophylactic measures including bounding down of persons U/s 110 / 107 Cr.P.C., seizure of illegal arms, seizure of illicit liquor and execution of NBWs.

Y.K.Jethwa, ADGP, Law and Order and IGP (Law and Order) S Praveen Kumar reviewed the overall deployment plan and emphasized on enhancing the work of Mobile Squads and Flying Squads and thorough checking by setting up Nakas around the constituency.

Director, Intelligence RK Sharma shared the intelligence connected with the Bye-election and urged the DIG and SP to closely monitor the law and order situation.

Other issues discussed included Security of VIP/VVIPs visiting for campaigning purpose.Strict and prompt action to be taken on election related cases.Mapping of critical and vulnerable booths and preparing security plan accordingly.
