DGP Abhay reviews security preparedness for Balasore Sadar-Tirtol By-Polls

BHUBANESWAR/BALASORE/JAGATSINGHPUR: Odisha DGP Abhay on Friday reviewed security arrangements for the bye polls to Balasore Sadar.DGP held talks with Director Intelligence, RK Sharma, ADGP (Law and Order) YK Jethwa, DIG Eastern Range, Diptesh Patnaik and Balasore SP Sudhanshu Sekhar Mishra and took stock of security situations for the polls.

“Reviewed police arrangements for Balasore Sadar assembly by- poll at Balasore today .SP Balasore ,DIG ER , ADG Law & Order and Director Intelligence attended the review .Adequate Police arrangements have been made .We are confident of peaceful conduct of elections,” DGP, Odisha tweeted @DGPOdisha.

Earlier, DGP  Abhay had reviewed security arrangements for the election to the Tirtol Assembly Constituency in Jagatsinghpur. In Tirtol, total 21 platoons of police force will be deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the by-election . Besides, three companies of Central Armed Force (CAF) and over 150 officials will be engaged.

DGP had also held talks with ADG (Law and Order) Jethwa, Director Intelligence, Sharma , Central Range DIG Ashish Singh and Jagatsinhpur SP R Prakash.

Polling for by-polls to both Tirtol and Balaosore Assembly segments will be held on November 3 while counting of votes will take place on November 10. The election will be completed by November 12.It may be noted  here that by-election to the two Assembly seats was necessitated after demise of former Balasore MLA Madan Mohan Dutta and Tirtol ex-MLA Bishnu Charan Das.
