SAMBALPUR: Sambalpur is a region of immense potential and it is the moral responsibility of all of us to develop this land in all aspects. Keeping this in mind, 48 important projects worth around Rs 194 crore were inaugurated and foundation stone laid today to further accelerate the development trend of Redhakhol constituency. These projects aimed at strengthening the education, health, transportation and agriculture sectors will bring about a major change in the social and economic lifestyle of the local people in the coming days, said Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
At a program organized in Nakatideul, Shri Pradhan said that the land of Sambalpur is a land of brave struggle. In this land, the prominent freedom fighter Madhu Gadtia fought an uncompromising fight against the British and sacrificed herself for the motherland without compromising with her dignity. Her bravery, courage and strength are unparalleled. He said that with the blessings of Maa Samlei, today 17 projects worth about Rs. 9.17 crore have been dedicated to the people for the development of Redhakhol, Nakatideul and Yuyumura blocks, while the foundation stone of 31 new projects worth about Rs. 184.69 crore has been laid.
The process for development of Bhimmandal Eco Heritage Site has been initiated at a cost of Rs. 8.30 crore. The improvement work of Rampur-Girishchandrapur road coming under Redhakhol block at a cost of Rs. 47.24 crore is being expedited, which will further ease the transportation system in the area. Similarly, the Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital in Redhakhol and Veterinary Dispensary at Charmal and the improvement of Chamunda-Burda and NH-6 to Marangabahal roads in Yuyumura block along with the development of new market complexes at Sarapali and Jamujhari will be accelerated.
Since Nakatideul is an agriculturally dominant area, the Government of India has selected it as an ‘Aspirational Block’. In this context, Shri Pradhan said that the government is committed to making the local farmers financially self-reliant by expanding dairy farming, vegetable and mango farming in the area. He reiterated that the overall development of the entire Sambalpur district including Redhakhol, Nakatideul and Yuyumura is our main goal. He specially thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Odisha Government for this development work.
