BHUBANESWAR:In connection with Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No.24/2026 registered against Prasanjit Das, Superintending Engineer, Mahanadi Northern Division, Jagatpur, Kataka U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) of PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, prayer was made by investigating officer in the Court of Spl. Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar to pass orders to take accused Sri Das, Superintending Engineer on Police remand.
*The Hon’ble Court was pleased to allow the accused on Police remand for 3 days w.e.f;-02.11.2026 to 04.11.2026 for further investigation*.
While on remand, Sri Das was taken to Baragada yesterday for inventory of his bank locker being operated by him at Axis Bank. *After inventorisation, gold jewellery weighing 606.30 gms was recovered*

Earlier on 17.10.2026, Prasanjit Das, SE, *was arrested by Odisha Vigilance in an interception case for carrying suspected ill-gotten cash Rs.7,28,620/-*. Soon after the interception, simultaneous searches were conducted by officers of Odisha Vigilance at his residential locations. During searches, further cash of Rs.14,60,000/- was unearthed and seized. *Hence, total cash seized from SE Sri Das stands at Rs.21,88,620/-*. And on the above-mentioned date, he was forwarded to the Hon’ble Court of Spl. Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
*He will be produced before the Court of Spl. Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar today*. Investigation of the case is in progress.
